PACS/RIS

Radiology Information System plus PACS – new opportunities for radiological departments

“Doctor Eleks” Radiology Information System (RIS) helps automating the workflow of radiology departments providing patient tracking, result processing, reporting, and archiving capabilities. RIS is designed to receive, store, manipulate and distribute patient radiological imagery, generated by different types of diagnostic equipment.

RIS “Doctor Eleks” is based on Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) which allows to digitally transmit electronic images and reports thus eliminating the need to manually file, retrieve or transport film. This helps to significantly facilitate radiologists’ work and reduce the cost of disposable materials.

One of the key system advantages is its applicability to any type of medical institution with regard to both functionality and price. This is achieved with the help of its module-based structure, which allows customizing each workstation or server set-up based on specific customer needs.

The key system modules include:

  • DICOM (SCU/SCP) - Send, Store, Query/Retrieve
  • DICOM Print
  • Patient CD/DVD recording
  • Light Web interface
  • Adjustable module of access authorization
  • Open standards of interoperability with different clinical systems, HL7

The new version of PACS workplace includes the most important functions required for efficient radiologists’ work, namely: patient registration and database search, parallel image processing, image filtering and processing, DICOM-based communication, local data storage, DICOM printing, saving data on patient’s CD, system customization and creating an individual desktop, etc. HL7 interfaces with PACS, enabling communication between MIS and RIS in addition to RIS and PACS.

RIS complements MIS “Doctor Eleks” and is critical to efficient workflow to radiology practices.
